Material Property

Internal database to manage the dinamic properties of the soils (Density, Vs, Vp, Poisson, Damping, Shear Modulus ecc..). It is possible the automatic calculation of parameters. 

Density (N/m3): the weight of the volume if not known can be derived from the value of the speed Vp according to the following formula (the equation returns t/m3):

Vp (m/s): the speed of compression waves if not known can be derived from the value of the speed Vs and the Poisson coefficient according to the following formula:
Vs (m/s): the speed of the shear wave if not known can be derived from the value of the dynamic shear modulus and the weight of the volume:
 
Gmax (N/m2): the shear modulus dynamic if not known can be derived from the value of the speed of the shear wave and the weight of the volume :

Go modulus: can be calculated equal to GMax or with the following formula:

  • Hardin e Black (1968);
  • Iwasaki e Tatsuoka (1977)

  • Custom Formula;

With "Custom" it's possible personalize the formula for calculution variation of the shear modulus with the depth
All options, except GMax = Go, reconstruct the evolution of the Go modulus with depth.

Poisson (-): Poisson's ratio is not known it can be derived from the value of the speed of the shear wave and the speed of the compression waves:
Young modulus: or Elasticity if not known can be derived from the value of the speed of compression waves, by the weight of the dynamic volume and the coefficient Poisson:
